Netcom Technologies has been established for over 14 years and provides our clients with managed IT services. We recently become an IASME Cyber Essentials Certification Body which helps fulfill our aim of being Yorkshires premier Security led managed service provider. We also run our own 40 rack Datacentre from our Sheffield facility. You will need a keen interest in technology, be hard working and will be a vital part of our friendly, professional team providing the highest standard of support to our client’s IT systems. Whist we encourage internal training, we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, and someone with a passion for IT and helping our clients use their IT to its optimum potential.

Responsibilities and Duties

We run a help desk with a difference as only employ 2nd and 3rd line engineers. So your working day will be varied, and could include different tasks from installing a new server into our data centre, remotely removing spyware or setting up a printer, calling to a client’s offices to set up a wireless network, setting group policies in Active Directory or planning and implementing a Windows 2008 to Windows2016 domain migration or a migration from on premise AD to Azure. No two days will be the same and every day will be full of challenges. Your duties will include:

  • Support and management of workstations, servers, hosting environments, cloud, backup systems
  • Spotting the need for, suggesting and undertaking projects
  • Developing and implementing SLA’s
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients
  • Taking ownership of client issues and following through a solution to the end
  • Prioritising project and support requests and allocating resources to fulfill those requests

Qualifications and Skills

We’re looking for someone how has gained experience and technical skills in a working environment of;

  • Customer service experience, building and maintaining client relationships
  • Provable working installation and break/fix knowledge of Windows 2008-2019, Hyper V. Working with clustered server environments an advantage.
  • Provable working break/fix knowledge of workstation operating systems inc Win XP,Win7 Win8, Win10. (Linux and Mac OS would be an advantage).
  • Provable working break/fix knowledge of Microsoft Office and related technologies
  • Provable working break/fix knowledge of networks, TCP/IP, wireless, VPN’s, Routers
  • Provable working break/fix knowledge of email, Exchange Server, POP3, Office365
  • provable working knowledge of Azure platform would be great but not essential
  • Experience in working in accordance with service level agreements
